Welcome to Living Hope Church — Plentywood, Montana
As a church held together by the Gospel of Christ through the Holy Spirit, we seek to live out the meaning of life as we have discovered it in Jesus Christ. We encourage every member to fulfil their purpose as part of the body of Christ.
Who We Are
An Overview   Living Hope is a vibrant church that believes Jesus Christ is relevant for people today.
We seek to create an accessible church for everyone, where we worship and discover more about God in a way that makes sense in the culture we live in.
Church is about people connecting with God and each other. We do our best to provide a welcoming and comfortable atmosphere, where you can come as you are and discover with us the life-transforming power of God.
We aim for engaging and challenging messages in our Sunday service that empower you for the whole week. Whatever age or background you are from, we hope you will leave inspired and challenged.
Statement of Purpose   As an active body of believers, Living Hope seeks to relate to the needs of the emerging generation of Christians and non-Christians today. The events, services, and projects we share in are designed to communicate the message of Jesus Christ through clear words and loving actions. We work hard at making the Good News of Jesus Christ accessible to today's society.
As a church held together by the Gospel of Christ through the Holy Spirit, we seek to live out the meaning of life as we have discovered it in Jesus Christ. We encourage every member to fulfil their purpose as part of the body of Christ.
We do this through loving acts of service, giving, and a determination to act with integrity in everything we do. Individual members of regeneration are encouraged to share in the responsibility of telling others of the love of God, inviting them to live lives to the full in Jesus Christ. Our vision is to be a sending church into the local area and the world.
We are determined to live life as Jesus has given it to us – to the full.
Who is Living Hope for?   Living Hope is for everyone. We are a group of average, everyday people with a rich blend of ages, cultures and backgrounds. We love people who do not know Jesus, as well as those who do.
Will I be made to give money?   If you’re visiting – even if you’re from another church – there is absolutely no obligation to give. If you consider yourself to be a member of Living Hope, we encourage you to give as the Bible tells us, generously and cheerfully, with 10% of what you earn being a benchmark.
Giving is treated as a private and personal matter; no one from Living Hope is going to be keeping a record of what you give individually except for purposes of year-end tax should you wish to give in that way.
Do I have to say anything?   Only if you want to. Some of our lessons promote discussion, in pairs or small groups, which are then sometimes fed back into the talk, so you could share what you discussed if you so wish.
Unlike some other churches, we don’t have what they call ‘liturgy’ or taking it in turns between the speaker and congregation to read a set passage of text from a book. We like to keep things informal.
Is it ok to leave before a service is finished?   It’s fine if you need to leave at any time and for any reason. Our doors stay unlocked – and fully open throughout the service.
How do I become a member?   We do not have formal membership but rather believe that membership is a state of the heart. We believe that a commitment to follow Jesus, regular attendance at church, financial giving and a willingness to serve are the best indicators of a person's membership at Living Hope.
Relevant   We believe that the message of Jesus is relevant today.
We have a duty to present the Gospel in a way that is accessible to today’s fast changing culture.
Classical & Contemporary   We determine to worship God in a style that is both contemporary, classical, and relevant.
We aim to use current technology, sound and creative arts, to create an atmosphere where people can meet with God.
Hospitality   We value hospitality.
Living Hope aims to be a church that welcomes people with open arms, enabling them to encounter the unconditional love of God. People can come as they are and engage on a level where they feel comfortable, yet feel challenged to grow in their discipleship.
Authentic Discipleship   We endeavour to produce 'world class disciples'.
The teaching should speak into people’s lives without compromising Biblical truth. We believe that encountering Jesus transforms lives. Great importance is placed on teaching, small groups and individual accountability. We expect our leaders to live exemplary lives, modelling to the rest of the church a lifestyle that is in line with New Testament teaching. We encourage transparency and integrity, whilst recognising that none of us are the finished product. We take seriously Jesus’ commandment that we should go and make disciples. Therefore, everything we do as a church will be missional. One of the roles of the church leadership is to equip the people at Living Hope in their personal witness, loving and serving a world in need of the Saviour.
SPIRIT-FILLED + PRAYER FUELLED   The spiritual gifts of the New Testament are relevant today.
We endeavour to be a church filled and empowered by the Holy Spirit and encourage members to use and grow in their gifting. We are committed in bringing all aspects of life to God in prayer. Through prayer, lives are changed and transformed.
Flexible + Fun   Our Church structure needs to be flexible.
We will ensure that our organisation allows us to make quick, yet effective decisions. We will embrace change as God leads us, and always remain open to His direction.
EVANGELISTIC + COMMUNITY FOCUSED   We want to be at the center of our community.
We seek to bring the Good News of Jesus into the community as a catalyst for personal and social transformation. We seek as a church to primarily exist for those who are not yet believers on Jesus Christ.
GENEROUS + SUPPORTIVE   God has called us to build his Body, that is, the Church.
This will require sacrificial giving of our time and resources. Therefore, we seek to build strong links with other local churches, working where possible in partnership in local mission. We will be generous with the resources that God has given us.
